Today, let’s look back on July and look forward to August.

Favourite reads

I read 12 books in July. Here are some of my favourites.

Books I’m looking forward to reading in August

A small selection of books I can’t wait to read next month.

On the writing front

July was a quiet month for me in terms of writing, but I do have a few updates.

First, I finished the first draft of Gingerbread Mistletoe (Lighthouse Bay #2) and sent it off to my amazing beta readers. I think my readers will love this story as much as I do! It’s the story of Mika Jones, who was introduced in Christmas Lane, and features wooing via inflatable Christmas lawn ornaments, so many snickerdoodle cookies it’ll make your teeth ache, a friendly ghost who knows best, and an actor and a CEO who get off on the wrong foot. Look for it this November!

On August 7, I’m re-releasing As Big as the Sky, my fluffy summertime read, and it’s going into KU. Pre-order it here.

I’m so excited to announce that my newest novel in the Stick Side series, Risking the Shot, is coming September 8. Cover reveal is coming August 12, but you can pre-order it now at Amazon, Apple, B&N, and Kobo.

Featuring a hockey player who knows exactly what he wants and a cake decorator leery of relationships, Risking the Shot has:

  • A single dad
  • An age gap romance
  • Bisexual rep
  • Scotch-flavored kisses
  • A hockey player studying paramedicine
  • A four-year-old obsessed with his signed jersey

I took the last two weeks off of writing, spending only a few hours writing a bonus scene for Risking the Shot that will be available to newsletter subscribers. The first week of August, I’ll be starting work on a brand new novel as well as starting a three-month writing course, so it’s going to be a busy tail end of 2020.

That’s it for this edition of High Five Friday. Thanks for reading!
