Today, let’s look back on August and look forward to September.
Favourite reads
I read 7.5 books and listened to 1.5 audiobook in August. Here are some of my favourites this month. Building Forever was a reread, and I loved it just as much as I did the first I read it two years ago. The other three are brand new.
Books I’m looking forward to reading in September
There are so many great books I can’t wait to read next month!
On the writing front
On August 1, I started writing a brand new novel. It doesn’t have a title yet; I’ve just been calling it Ethan + Casey—they’re the main characters. It’s a college hockey romance between two best friends turned fake boyfriends, and it’s set at Glen Hill College, which features in books one and three of my Stick Side series. I’m about 10K words into writing it, so I don’t have a release date, but it’ll be probably be February or March 2021.
On August 7, I re-released As Big as the Sky with a brand new cover but no new content. And it’s in KU! This sweet, summertime romance features neighbours who dislike each other, stargazing, and a pig named PomPom.
Audiobook news! On the Ice is coming to audio! My narrator is almost finished recording and will be going into edits soon. If I had to guess, I’d say I’m looking at a release date of September or October. I can’t wait for you audiobook listeners to hear Mitch and Alex come to life.
COMING UP! On September 8, the next novel in my Stick Side series is being released. Risking the Shot is book four in the series and I’m giving away five signed paperbacks. Check out the Goodreads giveaway below.
Tay’s NHL team is about to make the playoffs—there’s no time for distractions. But the single dad who works for the fundraising arm of his organization—and moonlights as a cake decorator—is such a delicious one.
Featuring a hockey player who knows exactly what he wants and a cake decorator leery of relationships, Risking the Shot has:
- A single dad
- An age gap romance
- Bisexual rep
- Scotch-flavoured kisses
On November 17, I’ll be releasing a brand new Christmas novel in the Lighthouse Bay series, Gingerbread Mistletoe. I don’t have a blurb, cover, or buy links yet. But I have to say, this is one my favourite books that I’ve ever written. It’s sweet, a little bit sad, hopeful, and full of holiday cheer. Not to mention that there’s wooing via inflatable Christmas lawn ornaments!
Italian readers! On the Ice is coming in Italian on September 30th! Stay tuned for more details, or sign up for my newsletter to be kept up to date.
In other news, I’m four weeks into a weekly writing class called The Story Magic Academy and it’s so much fun! I’ve already learned so much and I can’t wait to put all of my new knowledge to use on my upcoming novels.
That’s it for this month’s edition of High Five Friday! Thanks for reading.
